Move on up – Move To is now available

Howdy there Workflowy folks, this week we’re releasing a highly requested feature to all our users. With the Move to command, it’s now ridiculously convenient to move items around your workspace without taking your hands off the keyboard – this opens the doors to more workflows that might otherwise not have been as convenient.

How do I try the feature?

There are three ways to use the Move to command.

  1. Choose ‘Move To…‘ from the bullet menu for the item you want to move
  2. Put your cursor on the item you want to move and use the slash command /move
  3. Put your cursor on the item you want to move and use the keyboard shortcut [Ctrl] + [Alt/CMD] + [M]

Note that you also have several options when choosing the destination of the item you want to move.

Here’s what that looks like using the slash command.

And here are the step-by-step explanations for what’s happening.

1. Put your cursor on the item you want to move.

2. Trigger the slash command by typing /move and hit Enter on your keyboard.

3. Type the name of the destination for the item, you can use your arrow keys to select the item if multiple options are displayed. Then hit enter.

4. After you hit Enter a message will appear that confirms the move and lets you view the item in its new destination or undo the move command.

And there you have it, a new, convenient way to quickly move items around and stay in flow. Let us know what you plan to do with the new feature or what you’ve been using it for if you’re a Workflowy labs user.

See you in the next one! 🇺🇦
