Hey there Workflowy folks, today we’ve got a really nice quality of life update for you. You can now add dividers.
Lists are great. We love lists. But long lists can be hard to read, and it’s easy to scroll away and lose your place. Dividers help break things up. Use them to create visual sections, add a bit of structure, and make your notes easier to scan.
How to use it
- Place your cursor where you want to insert a divider
- Type – – – or the /divider slash command
They show up in exports and print-outs too!

Until the next one!
I really enjoy this 🙂
also love the updates to the apps, SO grateful the touch targets are more reliable now (especially on the toolbar above the keyboard)
Ugh. I am struggling to convert it back to normal bullet.
How do I turn this off please? I use “- – – – -” a lot, and dislike the auto-line feature
Plus one for a thicker looking divider – both Windows and Android. It is barely visible. On the sidebar it is fine. I like this feature very much….thanks!
It works with /divider, but I can’t make it work by typing – – – (or ––– or — or – – -).
You need to hit ‘spacebar’ after the —
It works!
Cool addition, thanks!
I think I discovered a bug, not sure.
When I have a Kanban Board and I create a new item with a divider as the title of the new board, deleting the divider seems to delete the item rather than just the “text” of the divider. All child items in the board are deleted instantly.
Normally if you delete the text of a Kanban board heading, it doesn’t instantly delete all of the child items. That’s what makes me think this is a bug.
If I delete the text of a Kanban board heading, it calls the board “Untitled”. If I delete a divider line it says “The original item was deleted or you don’t have access to it.”
Great!

Uff que buena idea. Esto se agrega como una excelente opción a la de crear nota bajo el nodo y saltar estacio para separar visualmente un nodo de otro.

Mis felicitaciones al equipo de WF
