WorkFlowy is a tool people have open all day, and for many of us it becomes the hub from which we manage our work and lives. Today, we’re releasing what I believe is a genuinely better way to use WorkFlowy: a desktop app that starts up fast, works fully offline, and gives you instant access to your information without having to look through a bunch of tabs in your browser.

Notes
- If you rely on third party extensions to WorkFlowy, for styling or javascript, you currently won’t be able to use those in the desktop app. We hope to make WorkFlowy extensible, and bring these capabilities inside WorkFlowy, so that they will also work in the desktop app, but do not have a timeline for that.
- We have had a WorkFlowy Chrome Application for a long time, that behaves much like a desktop app. It had various issues, however, that made it annoying to use, due to the platform Google developed for this type of app being a bit … well … not amazing. Google is now discontinuing support for Chrome Apps, so at some point this will stop working. We will for the time being continue to put out releases of the Chrome app.
OK, as of today, Windows 10 tells me “this app can’t run on your pc” when I try to start the desktop app. It ran fine yesterday. Moreover, I cannot uninstall it since there is no entry in the control panel programme section. What gives?

When I install the windows App, it stops at Downloading package.7z, and stops.
Pop up message:”Your internet connection seems to be not permitted or dropped out!”
Please reconnect and click Retry to resume installation.
But the internet connection is good, and other internet services work well.I install on another computer same network, it works.
It seems that the desktop app disables the right-click context menu in Windows (giving me access to copy, paste, etc.) Is this intenional? Its not the case in the webapp, and I dont think it was the case in the chrome app. It would be really nice to have my right click menu; copying and pasting using just the mouse and no keyboard (and no detour to the menu bar) is really nice…
Would be great if I could toggle the search bar and even the menu bar so that I am left with a window that contains only my list, pure and simple. I often dont use search/menu for long stretches, and this would give me even more space and look even cleaner!

Perfect addition to a perfect solution. I love the clean look, keeps me focused. Will definitely be using the desktop app over tab.

Hello, its nice post on the topic of media print, we all know media is a fantastic source of facts.
Been using the desktop app on my Mac for days and I am loving it. Upgrading to PRO soon.
The download does not work for me – either gets stuck near the end or fails early. I have a slow internet connection, but other downloads work, just slowly.
Has there been thought about integrating spell check in to the desktop app? This is almost necessary IMO.
why would i ever use this over the web app?

I downloaded what appeared to be the app for linux however it was just a bin-image file which wouldn’t execute.
Normally Linux mint can open a download without having to download anything new.
run chomd +x on the download, and then it should execute & install.
don’t need to be a root user:
chmod a+x WorkFlowy.AppImage
./WorkFlowy.AppImage
–just chomd +x don’t work–

Great to have the app, but I really miss the themes, those seem limited on the desktop, making the web version looks so much better than I’m hesitating to switch.

Yes, the WorkFlowy app for iPhone X causes a bug in the items in the two notches at the top of the screen (time, bars, etc.). It causes them to permanently turn black, even after leaving the app. This is a problem, and the only way I’ve seen to fix it is to restart the entire phone. This needs to be addressed immediately.
Would be great to know what changes have been made with each update…
