WorkFlowy App for iPhone and iPad

You can now download WorkFlowy from the iOS App Store. Yay! Here’s the link.

We’re super happy that we’ve finally gotten something in the app store for you. We’re working on a bunch of improvements like offline support, bringing all the features of desktop to mobile and so on. Please check it out and share the love.

P.S. For all you Android users, we’re super sorry that we aren’t able to release an Android app at the same time as an iPhone app. We haven’t forgotten about you, and we love you very much.

P.P.S The WorkFlowy iOS app uses the same interface as the mobile web version. The benefits of having this in an app are that startup is much faster (after you’ve loaded it once), and it lets us implement useful features you can’t in a web browser. It’s also a necessary precursor to offline, which we’re working on.

I would really love to be able to share and collaborate with the lists on my phone… Are you planning on adding this in the near future?

Otherwise, it is a slick app. Thanks!

Hi! First of all, thank you for your work on Workflowy. I think it’s a great tool. However, the iOS app is really too limited for me to use it if I want to review my tasks and projects. The two main problems I encounter are :

1. I can’t delete an item. I can delete text, but if there’s anything nested in the item, I won’t be able to delete it completely. Deleting and Completing are not the same at all for me.
2. I can’t move an item. If I need to reorganize my lists, I absolutely need to do it on a full featured computer.

Another smaller annoyance is the + sign located at the far right of each line. I don’t know why it was implemented that way, but it’s less convenient, since if my text is short, it can be hard to select the proper + sign…

Are these issues planned to be fixed in a near future?

I want you to know that I really like Workflowy, and I hope my comments can help you improve it so more people join the delighted users group!

Yeah, we need to fix all of these issues. You can move an item by pressing and holding it.

Oh! Thanks for the moving tip! I was trying by holding the big dot in front of the text, with no success, but it works well if I click on the text instead.

Maybe I missed it, but is there a way to access toe Starred pages directly on the iOS app?

Hi Jesse, thanks for answering questions here. I’m loving the iOS app but haven’t figured out how to move / re-order the items on my list. This is one of the more important features for my usage. Is there a way to do this or will this be included in an upcoming update?

This app is not to my liking, though I’m sure others like it. What is really annoying is that you can’t delete it. And that SUCKS cause I hate having things that are useless on my ipad.

Huh, sorry you don’t like it. You can definitely delete it, though. What happens when you try?

We’ve gotten the scaling issue fixed, and we’re just starting on a set of improvements to the app.

Is possible to allow landscape mode in iPhone?

I have also an iPad and it is possible to leverage the wider part of the screen. This would allow to work better with very deep outlines. The app is universal for both Apple devices.

Thank you very much by this marvelous service.

Is there some sort of help file for the iOS app? I can’t figure out how to do basic things like delete an item or add a note.

Sorry Stanley, we don’t have a real help section for the iOS app yet. You can’t delete, other than manually deleting all the text in the node. Regarding adding a note, you tap an item to edit it, and then you should see a “Note” button at the top of the screen.

Is it still not possible to delete a node in iPad app? Please look at this feature in your next update. It’s very essential.

Please, please, please give an update on the droid app!!!! Droid users love workflowy too!!!! There is a second rate app out there that does NOT work, it will not allow you to type anything, you can see your lists but you can’t do anything with them!

Totally agree – I’m not really feeling the love for Android as promised over a year ago now. I’m using Workflowy at work and at home online, but there is still that big gap when it’s just me and my tablet out and about without WiFi and I’d like to be working offline.

Well, you’ll be happy to know that we have a developer actively working on it now. He switched from using an iPhone to using an Android for this purpose 🙂
