We are upgrading our databases for better performance and lower costs. The process to do this will require between 5 – 20 minutes of downtime, we cannot predict exactly how long, or when during the outage period that will be. We estimate Workflowy will be completely stable again within 30 minutes. We are doing this at a time that will impact the majority of our users the least, so we hope you won’t even notice it.
Here’s is when the planned outage will happen in US time zones:
- Eastern Daylight Time: 2:00 AM – 2:30 AM, July 1, 2023
- Central Daylight Time: 1:00 AM – 1:30 AM, July 1, 2023
- Mountain Daylight Time: 12:00 AM (Midnight) – 12:30 AM, July 1, 2023
- Pacific Daylight Time: 11:00 PM – 11:30 PM, June 30, 2023

- Central European Summer Time: 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM, July 1, 2023
- Eastern European Time: 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM, July 1, 2023

Nice! Is there any risk to data getting lost? Are these NoSQL databases being upgraded to?
No risk of data loss. It’s the exact same database. We’re just clicking a few buttons in the AWS (Amazon Web Services) to upgrade both the computers our databases are stored, and upgrade to the current version of the database software.
