We’ve been doing some work recently on search. We already made it 4 bajillion times faster. Now, we’ve made it 6x faster still, and added a new interface that lets you more easily explore special searches. Hope you find it useful.

Workflowy replaces your notebooks, stickies and bloated apps with a simple, smooth digital notebook that makes it easy to get organized and be productive.
It would be great to include or exclude an entire list based on its parent. Right now, if you search for (or negate) a bullet point, everything underneath it still shows up.
New to Worfklowy (since last Octobe) and quite impressed. Thank you so much. And fully newbie in the forums/blog comments.
A question I came up with… did you change the algorhytm to perform the searches?
Let me make myself clear. If I’m not wrong, some weeks ago Workflowy seached across all the lists/bullets; now I find myself searching only within the active list, so I am prompted to change active list in order to search something properly. Is it this way or am I missing something?
Any comments on this? ☝🏼
I have the same question either. The search results only show the matched items in the current active list. And I don’t know how to search across all the lists.
It’s been this way for as long as I can remember. Not sure if this is helpful but in case it is for somebody… If you search from the home list it searches across all lists.
I’m just experimenting with WFx Chrome extension, so my searches now are two-fold:
In case it’s useful for anyone.
PS: I’m especially loving the chances WFx gives me to move across all the system and to move bullets around 😍
Workflowy keeps getting better! Any plans to support syncing the theme to system dark mode, for example using prefers-color-scheme css?
I like the new search features and aesthetic!
